PLOT SYNTHESIS

“Macchina Napoli” is a trajectory of images, actions, and conflicts drawn both from anthropological training and from research into the genealogical history of an Italian immigrant family to Argentina. We are their descendants; and their lives, their conflicts, are also ours. The loss of their own culture, their search for identity, their uprooting, the war, abandonment, and hunger move through the piece as structural markers of a theatre of the superation.
